Preaching at Christ Church NYC—4 October 2026
It’s my privilege to be with the saints of Christ Church NYC on the Lord’s Day, 4 October 2026, preaching both morning and evening.
Lord willing, audio will be posted to the church's sermon archive, and I’ll link it here once it’s up.
Morning Worship, 10:00 a.m.: “The Living Jesus” (Revelation 1:1–20)
Revelation is not a puzzle to be solved. God didn’t give Revelation to be interpreted by us but to interpret the world for us. That interpretation comes in the vision of a person—Jesus Christ—before it says anything to us about the future. Come, learn a little about the book of Revelation from my current sermon series as we see John’s vision of the One who was dead and is alive forevermore, standing in the midst of his churches.
Praise & Prayer Night, 6:00 p.m.: “Seeking the Face of God” (Psalm 105:4)
The psalmist calls us to seek the LORD and his strength, and to seek his face or presence continually. That call is an invitation to the very thing we were made for. Join Christ Church for its monthly night of praise and prayer to seek the Lord.
What Is Christ Church NYC?
Christ Church is a confessional Anglican congregation on the Upper East Side whose mission is to make disciples of Jesus who make disciples of Jesus for the glory of God.
It grew out of a vision formed in 2001, when John Mason, an Anglican minister from Sydney, moved to Manhattan at the invitation of Tim Keller of Redeemer Presbyterian to reach people Redeemer wasn’t reaching. The attacks of September 11 brought the launch forward by roughly two years, and an evening service began that October.
The church was incorporated independently in the Anglican tradition in 2004 and most recently has been received into the Anglican Diocese of the Living Word, under the oversight of my friend Bishop Julian Dobbs.
Christ Church holds the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds and subscribes to the Thirty-Nine Articles, a Reformation confession contemporary with the Belgic Confession, which I subscribe as a minister.
Where Is Christ Church NYC?
Christ Church meets at 111 E. 87th St. If you’re in the city that weekend, whether you live there or are passing through, you’d be warmly welcome at either service.
